Aluminum
Since 1986, ALLENTECH has built this IFR consisting of a series of tubular inter-connected pontoons supporting a beam/clamp grid which supports the vapor-tight deck skin. ALLENTECH Skin & Pontoon IFRs are pre-fabricated at our design and manufacturing facility to ensure maximum quality control and efficient installation. We use custom extrusions and design each IFR to exact customer specifications and applications meeting or exceeding EPA, API, ASME and Aluminum Association guidelines.
The ALLENTECH Skin & Pontoon IFR is the most economical type IFR available in the marketplace today. Because it reduces emission losses by a minimum of 95%, typical payback is less than one year.

The ALLENTECH Stainless Steel Internal Floating Roof was developed for products which may be corrosive to aluminum. This Stainless Steel Skin & Pontoon type IFR is the same basic design as our Aluminum Skin & Pontoon IFR except that all components are constructed of stainless steel. This IFR, as with our standard Aluminum Skin & Pontoon Type IFR, is completely pre-fabricated and can be installed through tank shell manways as small as 18” diameter. Since all pontoons are seal-welded and pressure-tested at our fabrication facility, a hydrotest is not required.
Hybrid
The Allentech Hybrid Stainless Steel/Aluminum Internal Floating Roof was developed for products which may be corrosive to aluminum in the liquid phase. This Hybrid Skin & Pontoon type IFR is the same basic design as our Aluminum Skin & Pontoon IFR except that all submerged or partially submerged components are constructed of stainless steel. The beam and clamp grid, deck skin and all components above the skin are fabricated from aluminum to minimize weight and cost.
This IFR, as with our standard Aluminum Skin & Pontoon Type IFR, is completely pre-fabricated and can be installed through tank shell manways as small as 18†diameter. Since all pontoons are seal-welded and pressure-tested at our fabrication facility, a hydrotest is not required.
